A leader in the development of gelatin-based drug delivery, we have invested significantly in making consumer-preferred drug delivery systems that may also enhance the performance of drug compounds. This has made us the market leader in softgel technology and the choice of many major pharmaceutical companies who continue to partner with Banner.
Over-the-Counter Pharmaceutical Products
We are a leader in the over-the-counter medication market, with softgel technologies ranging from gastrointestinal products (docusate sodium) to cough and cold products (acetaminophen with pseudoephedrine). In Mexico, we routinely manufacture suppositories for the over-the-counter market as both branded and private labels.
In addition, we supply our Soflet® Gelcaps dosage form to major pharmaceutical firms and private label suppliers for analgesics (acetaminophen) and feminine pain relievers.
Rx Pharmaceutical Products
We offer our Rx partners wide-ranging new product opportunities by using our gelatin-based drug delivery technologies. Banner works with clients to bring new products to market and helps clients extend the life cycle of their products. Many Rx products produced by Banner are available in today’s Rx marketplace helping to provide both chronic and acute treatment through both disease-fighting and life-sustaining pharmaceutical products.

Soflet Gelcaps
Soflet Gelcaps is a patented technology that enrobes tablets with either a gelatin or a non-animal film. This dosage form is preferred by consumers because of its ease of swallowing, and taste and odor-masking properties provided by the coating1. Because of these properties, this technology is particularly appropriate for multivitamin supplements.
The unique, patented manufacturing process of Soflet Gelcaps results in a two-toned color dosage form that can be easily printed on, offering distinctive opportunities for product branding and differentiation. In finished form, Soflet Gelcaps are tamper-evident, increasing consumer safety. Soflet Gelcap technology is therefore widely used in over-the-counter products, both branded and private label.
Three out of four consumers preferred Soflet Gelcaps over tablets in a third party study - so much so that respondents would purchase Soflet Gelcaps over tablets at a 10% premium.1 That's good news, considering preference heightens patient compliance and increases consumer purchasing. Soflet Gelcaps are ideal for clinical trial blinding.

Health and Nutrition
As consumers become more educated about preventative health and nutrition, we are well poised to deliver high quality products to the retail market. Centers of Excellence for the development and marketing of nutritional products exist in our state-of-the-art facilities in Mexico City, Mexico and in Tilburg, The Netherlands. We work closely with product development teams from various nutrition companies to collaborate on custom products.
We also research and develop our own innovative and branded nutritional products under the Gelcaps® trademark that can be found in major retail and chain stores in Central and South American countries.
